History
of the Scunthorpe Poly CC The club was first established in 1946 by a group of track riders who left the then Scunthorpe RC which later disbanded then reformed again in the 1970s. The first secretary was Reg Pulling a well known figure in Lincolnshire cycling who officiated at a lot of the then popular grass track meetings that abounded in the Lincolnshire/ Yorkshire area. Reg went on to become a local councilor for Scunthorpe & was involved in local politics for a number of years & he was instrumental in the town getting a Velodrome included in the Quibell Park sports stadium, which was opened on June 12th 1965.
