Steve Parsons and Anthony Pearson have just returned from Nuremberg with 8 Burdin Dernys purchased from the stadium of cycling in Nuremberg. Funded by British Cycling East Midlands these motorised bikes will allow the region to organise fast derny races and to train new drivers to pace the riders. The long journey started in Hull on Saturday night, and involved a long drive through Holland and Germany. The return trip involved over 1000 miles of driving past many famous cities such as Nijmegan, Koln, Bonn and Frankfurt . Meeting up with our European friends on Sunday evening, Steve and Tony were treated to Sauerkrut and Bratwurst, with a cool beer. All bikes were fully tested on the famous Nuremberg velodrome, which will continue to run events using the larger Honda motor pace machines. With the newly purchased dernys it will allow the region to promote derny events in the future. Want to find out more about the ,'Verein Sportplatze', link to our friends site here >>
